This venue has been utilized by numerous sports' national governing bodies and is one of the largest meeting/competition facilities in the country, boasting over 2.2 million square feet of meeting space. Florida Citrus Bowl - Orlando

Hickory Point Recreational Facility - Tavares
Ranked as one of the premier multipurpose fishing and water sports facility by Fish & Game Finder Magazine. Hickory Point has served as host for a wide array of events including the 1997 Governor's Cup Bass Tournament, Guys & Dolls Bass Regional Qualifier and numerous National Sailing Regattas.
The Villages - Lady Lake
Florida's top self-contained senior citizen community with over 153 holes of golf, 64 lanes of bowling, two polo fields and a multitude of other recreation facilities. Current stop on the Senior Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour and host site for 1998 Samsung World Championship of Women's Golf.
Sunset Lakes Ski Center - Okahumpka
This world recognized facility offers three man-made lakes perfect for slalom, trick, jumping and wakeboarding. The site has hosted events including the World Disabled, World Junior Championships and Olympic Trials.

Cypress Gardens is the venue for many national and international water ski competitions, including the prestigious World Championships, the All-American Championships and the Budweiser Pro Tour. Much more than a water ski venue, Cypress Gardens hosts the Sertoma/Bud Light Triathlon, the oldest and longest-running event of its kind in Florida . Polk County hosted the World Cup Hang Gliding Championship, the Diet Pepsi National Kneeboard Championship, the Publix Family Fitness Weekend, the Ranger Millennium Fishing Tournament, and the Like Father Like Son Fishing Tournament.
Baseball
Polk County is the host to three major league team Spring Training's: Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, and the Kansas City Royals. It is also the host venue for USSSA, and AAU.
Basketball
"the most basketball friendly venue in the United States " according to Don Ruedlinger, President of Youth Basketball of America. In addition to YBOA's National and International Championship events, The Lakeland Center serves as the host for the Boys and Girls Florida State High School Championships, the Sunshine State Conference Collegiate Championships, the Southern Hoops All-Star Tournament, the Division II Elite Eight.
Bowling
Host to the Florida Men's Senior Tournament and the Professional Bowlers Association Florida Open Championships. Also hosted the World Team Challenge and the Coca-Cola National Junior Bowling Championships.
Golf
Nationally-recognized golf tournaments staged in Polk County have the PGA Cadillac Open and PGA Tour Qualifying Finals, Buy.Com (formally Nike Tour) Lakeland Classic at Grasslands, and SBC Futures Tour Championship and Major League Scramble at the Club at Eaglebrooke.
Gymnastics
From the USAIGC National Gymnastics Championships to state qualifying meets, gymnasts from around the globe have found Polk County venues the ideal place to train and compete.
Soccer
The six field Lake Parker Soccer Complex hosts the prestigious Memorial Weekend Soccer Championships draws in excess of 180 teems annually, the Host Events 3 on 3 Southeast Championship and National Championships, and the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl.
Softball
Amateur Softball Association (ASA), Independent Softball Association (ISA), and National Softball Association (NSA). Each of these have hosted National Championship events in Polk County .
Swimming
Year-round swim meets and aquatic training, are available at Winter Haven 's Rowdy Gaines Pool, the Gandy Pool at Kelly Recreation Center , Simpson Pool, and the YMCA in Lakeland . Hosted every year by the City of Lakeland Aquatics is the Strawberry Invitational
Wrestling
with such wrestling events as the USA Wrestling Florida State Championships, the FHSAA State Championships and the FHSAA Regional Tournaments. Polk County has also been the host to the USA Wrestling Board of Directors meeting and the Florida Amateur Wrestling Associations Hall of Fame Banquet.

A combination of exceptional sports facilities, an ideal climate and close proximity to Orlando 's world-famous attractions and Florida beaches is why Seminole County Play was chosen the host to the USA Women's Softball Olympic Team, the Amateur Softball Association, World Cup and Olympic Soccer Teams, and other award-winning champions.
Softball
Past events include a 48-team National Softball Association (NSA) national qualifier and the Senior Softball World Series.
Aquatics
The Lake Brantley Aquatic Center hosted both the 1995 and 1998 Junior Olympic Water Polo Championships and is also used for Olympic and collegiate training. Crane's Roost Park is the site of water skiing and powerboat racing events.
Tennis
Sanlando Park (with 25 hard surface courts ) is frequently utilized for United States Tennis Association Championships. The Seminole County Sports Training Center at Sylvan Lake Park is "where champions train." The Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium hosted the baseball greats Babe Ruth and Jackie Robinson, and the next generation of players at events featuring Collegiate Baseball Teams, Women's Professional Baseball and ASA Men's Softball.
